A trip to the zoo could look very different in the coming years with more interactive experiences to be introduced including the possibility of human-to-animal translation devices.

Advancements in technology have allowed researchers to discover how animals communicate and it is very similar to human conversations.

University of British Columbia Professor and author of The Sounds of Life Karen Bakker told Jo McManus on 6PR Afternoons this research could potentially lead to the creation of animal translation devices.

“It pulls back the hidden curtain on the sounds of nature… that humans cannot hear,” said Professor Bakker.
