A man has been fined $500 for stealing electricity from the shire to charge their EV.

Hidden CCTV footage captured the man illegally charging his vehicle from a power box.

It is against the law in WA to charge an EV from anything other than an approved service point.

“If we are going to be forced to go down a path – and go to electricity and we have a scenario where a person cannot charge their car – what other option is there?” Karl said on 6PR Breakfast.
