Retail workers demand tougher penalties for assaults
The retail industry is hoping to persuade state and federal government to apply harsher penalties to those who assault workers.
Australian Retailers Association Chief Industry Officer Fleur Brown told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings the push has stemmed from multiple conversations on violence against retail workers across the country.
“Frontline workers are absolutely essential, and are often in very unfortunate situations,” she said.
