McGowan addresses building industry collapse, rough sleepers and more
Premier Mark McGowan visited the 6PR Mornings studio to talk to Gary Adshead about a range of topics, including the recent report on the Banksia Hill Detention Centre incidents, the emissions cap deal and the amount of rough sleepers in Perth.
Mr McGowan said the State Government was opening social housing and building a record number of houses, but accommodating an increasing number of rough sleepers “takes time”.
“We’re trying to address that matter as quickly as we can,” the Premier said.

Also on the schedule was questions over the Perth Mint, with the Premier putting down issues with non-compliance down to a lack of “robust systems” when the McGowan government came into power.
“When we learned about it, we put in $34 million to fix it,” he said.
