Former Indigenous Affairs Minister Ken Wyatt sent shockwaves through national politics when he dramatically quit the Liberal Party over their refusal to support the Indigenous Voice to Parliament proposal.

Mr Wyatt spoke to Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings about what drove him to make the decision despite holding an instrumental position in Parliament, especially in regards to the Voice legislation.

“Indigenous Australians… are focused on they’re fundamental needs based on education, health, infrastructure, opportunities for their children, drugs and alcohol… there is nothing that goes outside of that,” Mr Wyatt said.
