153-year-old building behind iconic Aussie song up for sale
The Tenterfield Saddler building in the town of the same name – made famous by the Peter Allen song of the same name – is up for sale, with the hop of keeping it in Australian hands.
Lloyd’s Corporate Broker’s Dianne Reynolds told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast the building is a very popular tourist attraction, and a potential boon for any potential buyer.
“It really is a historical… there’s really a good, strong belief in this brand,” she said.
“It used to be visited by A.B [Banjo] Patterson when he lived in the area.”
