Pardoo Roadhouse facing $4 million bill as parts of Pilbara wiped out
While many areas which prepared for Cyclone Ilsa managed to escape without damage, Pardoo was not so lucky.
The Pardoo Roadhouse and Tavern is facing a $4 million damage bill after the storm ripped off the man building’s roof and laid waste to the surrounding area.
Pardoo Roadhouse Manager Kelly Martinez told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings they had taken shelter in a sea container as the cyclone hit.
“A lot of our accommodation out the back has been completely wiped out; that includes staff rooms as well,” Ms Martinez said.
“Trees have been uplifted. The Roadhouse is still standing, but the roof slipped off.”
