‘Mao-Gowan’: Premier’s China tour keeps stirring the pot
WA Premier Mark McGowan continues to make headlines during his current junket, this time over remarks that Prime Minister Anthony Albanese should send his entire cabinet to China.
Mr McGowan said during a press interview that the Federal government should send the cabinet to “fan out” and visit the regions throughout the country.
Gary Adshead questioned the responsibility of the Premier’s comments 6PR Mornings, given recent controversies and reports on China’s ability to spy on other countries, as well as his most recent dig at opposition defense spokesperson Andrew Hastie.
“Andrew Hastie will join me in the studio along with the Federal Government’s Defense Personnel Minister Matt Keogh for our Behind Party Lines segment. Maybe we should rename it Behind Communist Party Lines,” Mr Adshead said.

Andrew Hastie himself described the comments as “poor form”, and stated he didn’t think it was becoming of anyone – politically opposed or otherwise – to make such judgements in an important meeting in another country.
“He’s veering into areas like foreign policy, which is no place for a state premier,” Mr Hastie said.
“So when he runs people like me down in China, I think it sets a very bad example.”
