‘A bad idea for Australia’: McCusker blasts the Voice at its core
Former WA Governor Malcom McCusker has blasted the architects behind the Voice referendum, labelling the attempt at constitutional amending as a “power grab disguised in sheep’s clothing”.
The noted legal expert and philanthropist has warned there is no cap on the provision of rights and freedoms outlined in the proposal, which could allow them to continue after the objectives are met.
“I came to the conclusion that this is a totally bad idea for Australia,” Mr McCusker said.
“Warren Mundine has made the point – and I think correctly, that you can’t treat all Aborigines as one homogenous group.”
