‘A blow to the tourism industry’: Calls to reverse the closure of Horizontal Falls
The State Opposition has launched a petition calling on the Cook Government to reverse its controversial decision to close Horizontal Falls in the Kimberley.
The government says the decision to phase out boat rides through Horizontal Falls by 2028 was made in respect of the wishes of traditional owners.
Shadow Environment Minister Neil Thomson told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings there hasn’t been enough consultation with industry.
“We just don’t know what decision will be next… this is an end of the wedge for anyone operating in our marine environment,” Mr Thomson said.
