Acacia Prison confirms COVID-19 case among 115 new local infections
WA Health has not revealed how many of the 115 local cases of COVID recorded overnight were mystery cases.
The massive spike in locally-acquired infections was announced on Wednesday and is nearly double the previous record for daily cases of 62 recorded on Monday.
Just 13 new cases were diagnosed from interstate and overseas travellers, as community transmission continues to accelerate.
Health authorities are now monitoring 444 active cases, none of which are in hospital, with roughly 8000 people presenting for PCR tests at clinics on Tuesday.
Liam Bartlett told his 6PR Mornings program that WA Health confirmed one COVID-19 case had been detected at Acacia Prison a short time ago.
