Whatever medical condition it might be in your family that you’re dealing, you never quite know where to start.

Finding the right doctor or GP who is qualified in a particular area can be really challenging.

The Australian ADHD Professionals Association hopes a new national clinical guideline for ADHD will be that starting point for people, with more than a million Australians diagnosed with the condition.

Professor Mark Bellgrove, from the Australian ADHD Professionals Association, told 6PR Breakfast stand-in co-hosts Lisa Barnes and Mark Gibson the guidelines are a best practice guide for diagnosis and treatment.

“It does a very thorough analysis, so both physicians and folks living with ADHD can use this as a  go-to resource to tell them what best practice is and what to expect when receiving treatment,” he said.
