AFL boss Gillon McLachlan says the league’s focus is on the welfare of Harley Bennell after the Gold Coast Suns player was photographed in front of what appears to be lines of drugs.

The pictures were reportedly taken in a Tasmanian hotel room in 2013, just days before the beginning of the season.

It’s the latest in a string of off-field issues facing the West Australian.

McLachlan says the AFL and the Suns will work with Bennell moving forward.
