AFL Draft Feature: proud grandparent, player agent and coach
WA had a successful AFL Draft on Friday night with 15 local players picked up by AFL clubs.
Bouncing Around featured the AFL Draft by catching up with a coach, player agent and well-known grandparent.
Player agent Colin Young had 11 of his players picked up; he was in Sydney for the draft and spoke with us about the experience.
Peter Sumich is the WA State Academy Coach and has worked with most of the WA players who are now heading to the AFL.
Local legend Ian “Sticks” Brayshaw has had his own share of success in cricket and the WAFL, his sons also made a name for themselves and now he has three grandson’s aligned to AFL clubs with Angus already with Melbourne, Andrew picked up by Fremantle yesterday at #2 and Hamish taken by the West Coast Eagles at #68.
