WARNING, CONFRONTING CONTENT: The Australian Federal Police have shared the details of what seems to be the worst case of child sexual abuse in Australian history, with a Queensland man being charged with a total of 1,623 offences.
The Gold Coast man has been in custody since August 22 but it’s only now the full scope of the heinous crimes – allegedly taking place in 10 childcare centres in Queensland – have been revealed.
Press PLAY to hear more about the shocking arrest
AFP Assistant Commissioner Justine Gough told a press conference they were “highly confident” they had contacted the parents of all the children connected to the crimes.
“The AFP launched Operation Tenterfield immediately [after his arrest], and within hours this material was identified on the man’s alleged electronic devices,” Commissioner Justine Gough said.
