As school holidays come to a close, Qantas CEO Andrew David, told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live that they are preparing for another chaotic weekend of travel.

“We understand the frustration and let me start with an apology, because it is challenging and we acknowledge that. We are not delivering the kind of performance that we were delivering pre-Covid, that our customers expect of us,” Mr David said.

“Your listeners can expect it to get better next month and the following month, but unfortunately we do not have a magic wand to instantly address this problem.”

With around 350,000 Aussies planning to come home this weekend to make it in time for the new school term, Mr David highlighted that there was no cancellations in Friday’s flights, only a few delays.

“I can tell you that over the last couple weeks, we have got 90% of all customers to their destination within in the hour and 99% within the next 24 hours,” he told Oly.
