Alcaraz shatters Djokovich’s Wimbledon dreams
Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz Garfia has turned around a 1-6 loss in his first game against Novak Djokovich to upset the long-time world number one at Wimbledon in incredible fashion.
Djokovich’s composure broke down at times throughout the five-hour marathon in one of the few matches the Serbian did not win in straight sets during a mostly dominant campaign.
Nine News sports reporter Mark Readings told Millsy and Karl it’s potentially the changing of the guard in men’s tennis.
“He’s the first player to beat Novak since Andy Murray in 2013; it’s a 45-match winning streak he’s had to let go of,” Mr Readings said.
