Alcohol deliveries could be put on hold as addiction hits crisis levels
The Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education is pushing for a two-hour delay on alcohol deliveries as alcohol abuse reaches new highs.
FARE CEO Caterina Giogi told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast alcohol deliveries were having an increased adverse effect on people who may already be vulnerable to harmful use.
“What we find is that when people run out of alcohol at home, they usually call it a night,” Ms Giogi said.
“But with alcohol deliveries, people are actually extending their drinking sessions, and that can lead to harmful behaviours.”
