On Monday Dockers’ skipper Alex Pearce launched the Walyalup Football Club in honour of the Sir Doug Nicholls and AFLW Indigenous Rounds.

Fremantle will be changing their name to Walyalup for the next few rounds.

Pearce reflected on the importance of representing Australia’s indigenous heritage within the club.

The skipper told David Mundy and Adam Papalia on WWOS he is “extremely proud” of his team.

“I think it’s really special,” said Pearce.

“It felt like everyone was really together and embarking on a really special couple of weeks.”
