The cast and crew around the newest season of Masterchef are scrambling to understand the tragic passing of Jock Zonfrillo and figure what to do with the series.

The last 24 hours have seen friends, family and television personalities share their sadness over Mr Zonfrillo’s death, which allegedly occurred in a Carlton hotel room.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast information is still unclear on exactly what has happened.

“Nobody had any idea of the severity of the situation, and it really didn’t become apparent until 12 hours after the body had been found,” Mr Ford said.
