The public memorial for dynamic Australian singer Renee Geyer has been held at the National Theatre in St Kilda, with many luminaries taking time to remember her legacy.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast the four hour-long event was sensational.

“It didn’t shy away that Renee could be a complex and challenging woman,” he said.

“She could be pretty strident in her views.”
