With the Federal budget due to be released in the next coming days, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese joined Oliver Peterson on Perth Live to discuss what’s in store for WA.

The Prime Minister has not specified figures, but says a variety of sectors in WA will see funding increases.

“The job of next week’s budget is to make sure that we provide support for cost of living without putting further inflationary pressure on,” Albanese told Oly.

“It is a difficult balance, we have had the fastest uniform tightening of monetary policy by central banks around the world that we’ve seen in many decades and it’s important that the budget policy works with that context, rather than against it.”

Cheaper childcare, pharmaceuticals and supporting the resource sector by increasing projects in WA are small wins West Australians can expect in next week’s federal budget.

The PM also mentioned:

  • The independent review into Australia’s COVID-19 response and management.
  • Lidia Thorpe’s bombshell relationship with a former Rebels bikie boss.
