Anthony Albanese stands by his decision to visit WA
Federal Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has joined Oliver Peterson on 6PR.
Speaking on Perth LIVE, the Federal Labor Opposition Leader says he made a commitment to come to WA, despite major floods in his home state.
“I made a commitment that I would be here in Perth on the first flight,” he said. “I made that commitment probably on this program with you Oly, and I believe in keeping my commitments.”
Mr Albanese says wages will increase under a Labor government.
“We fully expect them to do so,” he told Perth LIVE. “You do it by properly defining secure work in the Fair Work act, you do that by having a principle of same job same pay enshrined in law, and you do that by making wage theft a crime.”
A date for the 2022 Federal Election has not been set.
During the segment, Mr Albanese touched on the floods, Ukraine and the WA border.
