Anti-Cultural Heritage Act petition ‘can’t be ignored’: PGA
A petition to be put forward by the Pastoralists and Graziers Association against changes to the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act has rteached almost 30,000 signatures.
PGA President Tony Seabrook told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings
“To be bashing forward with an ill-prepared, bad piece of legislation… it’s half-baked and it’s being rushed,” Mr Seabrook said.

Others have accused particular parties such as the PGA of “scare campaigns” against progressive policies.
Japalpa Australia Director Craig Somerville said the PGA didn’t fully understand the legislation and were involved in community consultation before the legislation passed, despite their own claims.
“I was involved in the consultations over the new act; it puts the same requirements on youx,” Mr Somerville said.
“If you’re aware there is cultural heritage on your block of whatever size, you already go through a process of seeking approval under the current law.”
