A Joondalup councillor wants city staff to investigate how it can add cats to an area of the local library so they can interact freely with visitors.

Psychologist and cat lover Dr Marny Lishman believes it’s a fantastic idea to allow cats in local libraries, citing multiple examples of positive feline presence in public places.

“Evidence does suggest that cats are very soothing and therapeutic,” she told Oly Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live.
