Footage of multiple drones exploding above the Kremlin has saturated international news today, with the Russian Government accusing Ukraine of trying to assassinate Vladimir Putin.

International security experts have questioned the incident however, flipping the script back on Russia with claims of a possible attempt to garner favour for their actions.

Curtin University Associate Professor of National Security and Strategic Studies Doctor Alexey Muraviev told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings if someone was legitimately trying to attack the Kremlin, they probably would have used more aggressive tools.

“Clearly, the explosion was the result of electronic countermeasures and other protective devices,” Dr Muraviev said.
