Australia’s eating ability has been accurately represented at the world’s biggest eating competition.

Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest took place on July 4 as it does every year and while constant hot dog-swallowing champion Joey Chestnut took out the top spot, Sydney man James Webb earned third spot.

6PR and Nine News US Correspondent Lauren Tomasi told Mick and Gena on 6PR Breakfast the competition was testament to how Americans like to celebrate.

“It is wild to watch, and there are more than 1000 hot dogs prepared for the whole thing,” Ms Tomasi said.
