Australia dominates global goat meat exports

In 2024, Australian red meat exports reached a record high, with goat meat exports increasing by 40 per cent in comparison to the previous year.
Global Supply Analyst at Meat and Livestock Australia, Tim Jackson told Simon Beaumont on 6PR’s Perth Today referring to the years statistics, “It looks like we’re gonna come in at around 55,000 to 60,000 tonnes of goat meat produced.”
“A bit over half of our goat meat went to the US.  We’ve sent quite a bit to China, sometimes to places like Malaysia, [and] pretty consistently, we send a decent volume to Trinidad and Tobago, so it goes all over the place,” Jackson continued.
