Australian fashion cycle spins too quickly for consumers

Micro-trends have become overwhelming in the fashion industry, driven by social media and ultra-fast fashion brands.
Dr Taylor Bridges from the Institute for Sustainable Futures explained to 6PR’s Breakfast hosts, Ian and Mick, that consumers are becoming increasingly exhausted by the hyper-fast fashion cycle, predicting a shift towards a year of greater personal expression.
“The last few years, I feel like people just have whiplash, where trends have come so quickly. So, I think we’re seeing a bit more of a push towards personal style, what works for you, and feeling a bit more comfortable in our clothes,” she said.
