Australians under 50 are experiencing stagnating life expectancy
Mortality rates in Australians aged 50 years and younger are worse than in other first-world countries.
Dr Sergey Timonin, lead author and ANU demographer, spoke to 6PR Afternoons host Julie-anne Sprague about the surprising results.
“The two main causes of death that have determined this negative trend is suicide and drug poisoning,” he said.
