Australia will start testing a digital identification system by the end of the year.

Monash University Cybersecurity professor Nigel Phair told 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl any credentials – including a passport or driver’s licence –  would be stored inside a person’s existing myGov account.

“It’s not the transfer of the documentation or the keeping of it by another organisation,” Professor Phair said.
