Finance Minister Katy Gallagher has announced that a new digital verification service could be in place within 12 months.

Senator Gallagher said the technology could be implemented by mid-2024 and that the system was largely ready to go once the legislation was in place.

Australian Privacy Foundation Chair David Vaile raised concerns surrounding Australians’ digital privacy when he spoke with Oly Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live.
