After 25 years in the actual hot seat, Eddi McGuire is retiring Millionaire Hot Seat in January next year.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford broke the news to Karl and Gena on 6PR Breakfast.

“Eddie loves to control the narrative,” Mr Ford said.

“He gave me a text message saying, ‘listen in to the radio in a couple of minutes, something will interest you.'”

The man himself talked about how proud he is for hosting a show that’s had such a profound impact on Australian families.

“We’ve had 15,000 competitors on the show, and it’s been an absolute blast to host and meet so many people from so many different backgrounds,” Mr McGuire said.
