Baristas on watch: Consumers switching to cheaper coffee alternatives
With the cost of living pressures people are making lifestyle shifts with their caffeine habits, switching to instant or other alternatives.
Marketing Focus Managing Director Barry Urquhart told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live even with this trend, there has not been a reduction in coffee consumption and people will still reluctantly buy their first coffee from a barista.
“The average adult Australian consumer believes that by being prudent in their consumption of barista made coffee they can and are saving between $10 and $20 dollars a week,” Mr Urquhart said.
