Barrister provides explanation for shock decision in 2021 Wooroloo bushfire court case
Residents impacted by the 2021 Wooroloo bushfires are reeling after prosecutors decided to drop criminal charges against the man accused of starting the blaze.
Barrister, Tom Percy KC, says it’s not unusual for the department of public persecutions to drop charges close to the trial.
“They come to the conclusion that, ‘We’ve got to this case beyond reasonable doubt’, that’s the highest standard the law knows,” he told Gary Adshead.
