Basil Zempilas hits back at Labor Government’s $18.7 million jetty revamp
The Cook Labor Government has announced it will deliver an $18.7 million revamp of jetty infrastructure at one of Perth’s most iconic waterfronts to support future tourism and charter operators.
A further $2 million feasibility study for ferry service expansion will also be added to the list of projects.
Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live any funds made from the City of Perth should stay in the city.
“We welcome any investment into the city and generally speaking our city would celebrate this” said the Lord Mayor.
“But until such time as it goes through parliament, it would be unlawful for Perth parking fund money to be spent on projects outside the City of Perth area.”
