While putting together a new documentary that explores his career, basketball legend Luc Longley was surprised to find the first basketball hoop he ever used in a Fremantle shed.

As you would, Luc Longley – who became world-famous while playing in Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls dream team in the 1990s – knocked on the front door, only to find the owners had no idea who he is.

Max and Susan Page told Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons they were delighted to meet Longley, hear of his childhood and discover how important a small metal hoop in their property was to Australian basketball history.

“My wife Susan had heard of him, but we’re ,more involved in theatre activities; when I was reading about Luc on Wikipedia I found out he’s Sam Longley’s brother, who we know very well,” Max Page said.
