A man arrested and charged over hit-and-run in Western Australia that left a woman in a critical condition has been accused of returning to the scene and pretending to aid his alleged victim.

Sherylee Bonney, 40, was found severely injured in bushland near Aries Close in Greenfields, a suburb of Mandurah, about 7.30pm on Tuesday.

6PR News reporter Anne Naylor told Liam Bartlett on 6PR Mornings that WA Police released CCTV vision last night of a white ute and a canopy before the 31-year-old man was later charged.

Naylor said the man was accused in court of returning to the scene with his young son and pretending to be a good Samaritan.
