A woman who snuck into WA to skip hotel quarantine has won her appeal and will avoid any further prison time.

Asher Vander Sanden had originally been handed a 6 month term for hiding in a truck which took her into the state to avoid hotel quarantine, but today Justice Jenni Hill ruled the sentence was ‘excessive’.

The 28-year-old will now undertake 50 hours of community service work.

Nine News Perth reporter Tegan Sapwell was in court and told Gareth Parker on Mornings Justice Hill took into account the time she had already served in jail.
