In a coup to Amber-Jade Sanderson’s attempt to gain the leadership position in WA Labor, Roger Cook has garnered enough votes to potentially the top spot.

The Metal Worker’s Union faction threw their votes behind Mr Cook, despite other sections of the Caucus supporting Ms Sanderson.

In a conference State Ministers David Templeman and Stephen Dawson added their support to Mr Cook, and said Rita Saffiioti would be an “ideal” Deputy Premier.
