WA Deputy Premier Roger Cook is set to be the state’s next Premier as Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson announced she is pulling out of the leadership race.

6PR Mornings host Gary Adshead spoke with Oly Peterson on Perth Live this afternoon about the whirlwind development.

“Roger Cook becomes the Premier of WA with Rita Saffioti as his deputy but only because the very powerful left faction of this state split in terms of where they wanted this to end up,” Adshead said.

Oly Peterson also spoke with Deputy Leader of the WA Liberal Party Steve Thomas on what Ms Sanderson’s decision means for the State.
