Sharing personal stories about domestic violence is no easy task, but as far as influential WA businesswoman Marion Fulker is concerned, it’s necessary to break down the stigmas that still surround the issue.

Ms Fulker has been honest and outspoken about her harrowing experience, and has a message to anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation; if you feel threatened in any way, get out, even if that means becoming what she terms a “domestic violence refugee”.

“I wasn’t subject to violence at home; in face I had a spoilt childhood,” Ms Fulker
