Brother heartbroken as pregnant Perth mum fights to survive horror attack
The family of a pregnant woman who had a brick thrown at her head in Karawara on Tuesday night are gathered around her bedside at Royal Perth Hospital, hoping she and her unborn child pull through.
Diane Miller, 30, was sitting in the passenger seat of a car when she was attacked at Waterford Plaza Shopping Centre carpark around 7.30pm in what police labelled as “senseless, unprovoked violence”.
Her brother Malcolm Clifton (pictured above with Diane’s young son) told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings her little sister acts like she’s the oldest, supports everyone and is “everyone’s rock … the most beautiful person anyone had met”.

“Everyone’s destroyed, shocked… because she’s such a beautiful person who would do anything for anybody,” he said.
“The doctor said she’s got swelling on the brain and it’s not coming down.”
A 17-year-old boy who allegedly ditched a piece of concrete at Miller, knocking her unconscious and causing her to go into cardiac arrest, appeared in Perth Children’s Court on Wednesday charged with grievous bodily harm and breach of bail.
