As the silly season fast approaches, there are growing concerns for fast food and retail store employees as staff are reporting a spike of customer abuse.

WA Secretary of the Shopping, Distributive Allied Employees’ Association Union Ben Harris told Julie-Anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons there needs to be more done to protect frontline workers.

“We’ve seen an increase even since covid in the degree to which our members are experiencing violence in their workplace from customers”, Mr Harris said.
