Shadow Emergency Services Minister Martin Aldridge is calling on the State Government to introduce dedicated paid emergency response leave for volunteer workers in the public sector.

“We know things are getting more difficult in volunteering, particularly in regional areas where we need them in emergency services situations,” Minister Aldridge told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live.

“Federally they give the public service 20 days of emergency response leave and I think we could align ourselves to a policy of that nature.”
