Perth universities are calling for the empty 500 beds at the Bullsbrook quarantine facility to be used as housing for international and regional students.

This comes as Western Australia’s rental vacancy drops below one per cent just before the start of semester.

Study Perth CEO Derryn Belford told 6PR Afternoons the facility is not a good solution to WA’s housing crisis.

“It would require significant investment to be fit for purpose,” said Ms Belford.
