WA Commissioner for Children and Young People Jacqueline McGowan-Jones says young Australians want to vote at age 16.

The commissioner told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live young Aussies want a say in the future country they’ll inherit.

“They’re worried about an awful amount of things that they feel governments aren’t worried about enough,” said Ms McGowan-Jones.

“By having a job they are paying taxes… young people feel they should have a say on how their taxes are spent.”
