Candidates debate the big issues facing voters in the seat of Hasluck

As the election campaign draws to a close and voters head to the polls this weekend, 6PR Mornings has been focusing on key marginal seats critical to the outcome of the May 21 vote.

This week, Liam Bartlett was joined by Ken Wyatt, Liberal candidate and current member for Hasluck and Tania Lawrence, Labor candidate.

Both candidates were asked how they felt before this Saturday.

“Quietly confident, but we should never make an assumption that voters are going to go the way we would hope,” Mr Wyatt said.

“What we have to do is look at the way we engage and the way in which they respond on election day.”

Based on what she has heard from local voters, Tania Lawrence said that they are ready for a new electorate member.

“I feel based on what people are saying to me that they are ready for change, that Scott Morrison has really genuinely let this country done in terms of the way in which he has led this country,” she said.

“I don’t recognise the country that he’s leading at the moment.”
