As the election campaign heats up, 6PR Mornings will focus on key marginal seats critical to the outcome of the May 21 vote.

This week, Liam Bartlett was joined by Kristie McSweeney and Zaneta Mascarenhas, the Liberal and Labor candidates for Swan.

Both candidates were asked about the number one issue for voters.

“A lot of people are interested in the security of their economic position, that is a big thing,” Ms McSweeney said.

The other major issue she hears from “every second or third person” is crime.

Ms Mascarenhas says she’s hearing a lot of concerns from voters about the cost of living pressures.

“Everyone that I speak to, the number one issue is cost of living, households are doing it really tough and the truth is everything is going up, but your wages.”
