Car sellers committing fraud by winding gauges, watchdog alleges

Car sellers are allegedly trying to make a quick buck by winding down digital odometers on second-hand cars, according to the Motor Trades Association of WA.
MTA CEO Stephen Moir told Gary Adshead onĀ 6PR MorningsĀ the technology is easily accessible.
“If it’s a 10-year-old car and it’s showing incredibly low kilometers, either it’s been owned by a grandma who’s not driven it much or something is wrong,”Ā Mr Moir said.
